Optimal fat burning is a hot topic when it comes to training, nutrition and supplementation, as who wouldn’t want to be in their leanest condition all year round right? This concept might appear to be a little far-fetched and unattainable, but actually it is a lot simpler than a lot of us believe.

When it comes to ultimate fat burning, a number of boxes need to be ticked. Firstly, you need to be eating in a caloric deficit for a sustainable period of time, meaning that you are consuming less food than the energy you expend, a theory that strongly supports that infamous saying- ‘abs are made in the kitchen’. 1) Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA)

CLA (short for "Conjugated Linoleic Acid"), is an omega-6 fatty acid that is found in dairy and animal fats, such as beef, lamb, whole milk, and eggs, but cannot be produced naturally by the human body. Its purpose is simple, when coupled with a good eating and training regime, CLA is proven to help increase the bodies metabolic rates, boost the immune system and ultimately allow for greater fat loss to occur whilst still continuing to boost overall muscle growth and strength. The main way in which CLA does this is by inhibiting the enzyme lipoprotein lipase (LPL). LPL allows fat cells to take up fat from the bloodstream, and store it as body fat. By inhibiting LPL, CLA prevents the body from storing fat, and instead encourages it to burn fat, especially in cellulite prone areas. Many people have found it best to take CLA supplements before or with meals.

2) Carnitine

Carnitine is found in nearly all cells of the body and is produced naturally by the liver and kidney’s, however many individuals who experience either genetic or medical conditions will look to this supplement to provide the much needed nutrients that their body’s may not be sufficiently producing. Carnitine is an amino-acid-like molecule that acts as a critical component in the complex transporting system that brings fatty acids into the mitochondria, where it is then burnt to produce our body’s energy, so in other words, carnitine relates directly to our bodies energy production. So if you want to use fat as a fuel as efficiently and effectively as possible, you need l-carnitine.

3) Hybrid Fat Burner

A combination of caffeine, green tea extract, and raspberry ketone complex are the key ingredients to look out for when aiming to purchase a great fat burner.
